Tupelo Genus Details
Tupelo is a native tree with a dense, conical, flat topped crown. Tupelo can reach heights of 50-75' tall. The leaves are 2-5" long, 3' wide and turn a bright orange in the fall. The flowers are greenish. Fruit is 3/8-1/2" long and berrylike. Tupelos are found growing in moist soils in valleys and uplands from Ontario to Maine, south to Florida and north to central Michigan. Fruits are eaten by birds and mammals.
